My name is Proscovia and I am 17 years old. I come from Padwot village in Nebbi District. I am an orphan who was neglected and abandoned to the care of my vulnerable and very poor grandmother with my two other younger brothers.
Because she could not afford to provide for our education due to extreme poverty. We stayed home until I was granted an opportunity to study for free by my kind Head Teacher in Nebbi Primary School who graciously allowed me to complete my Primary Seven level. After completing my primary level, I lost hope completely like many other vulnerable girls in my village and almost gave up on my studies because I had no one to pay for my school fees at the secondary school level. But luck was still on my side, my headteacher and my class teacher who knew I loved and had an interest in studies searched for and connected me to school fees sponsorship at Edu Child Foundation Uganda. That indeed was an answered prayer for me, my hope became alive! when I joined Uringi Secondary School and I dream of becoming a human doctor so that I can help many other sickly and needy orphans in my village.
I believe that God is the answer to everything which happens in our lives that’s why he answered my prayers and he is my only hope and strength.
